The purpose of OA-Scoutreach mentoring is to partner the mission of Scoutreach (serving primarily inner-city youth through Scouting's emphasis on the outdoors and citizenship) and the mission of the Order of the Arrow (using our brotherhood to provide cheerful service where needed) to give new, urban, and rural troops a "mentor" - someone who knows Scout skills well (as all Arrowmen do) and can pass this knowledge on. Often, troops do not camp for lack of knowledge about how to do so. An OA-Scoutreach mentor can work with a troop and Scoutmaster over a period of months to establish it on firm ground.
Kiskakon Lodge has been asked by the Scout Executive of AWAC to establish this partnership. If you would like to help, read more at the links at left and download the application and send it to Lodge Chief Aaron Ware.
